WHEN CAN I LEAVE MY CHILD AT HOME ALONE?

Under the Criminal Code of Queensland, it’s an offence for a child who is aged under 12 years to be left alone for an unreasonable amount of time. If a child is left without proper care or reasonable steps have not been taken to ensure proper care, the penalty for the carer/parent is three years of imprisonment.
